A scientist in Amsterdam says she’s found the cure for fear. It’s as simple as taking a little white pill – and the effects are like a real-life Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind. Testing of the treatment so far has been wildly successful. From minor phobias to major traumas, a lot of people could have their lives profoundly changed. But what are the moral and ethical ramifications of a pill for curing fear? And is it okay to be erasing human emotions in this way?
A 4-part documentary series of shorts, The Cure for Fear was commissioned by Topic, an on-line video magazine. It was the first series of shorts ever to play at Camden International Film Festival, in 2018, and was nominated for an IDA Documentary Award, Best Short-Form Series.
